Worker's Comp
Injuries on the Job: The House will comply with applicable state and federal laws and regulations concerning occupational health and safety. Any unsafe or hazardous working conditions should be reported to the house managers immediately. They will take appropriate actions to correct such conditions.
If the Employee is injured on the job, the Employee must immediately inform the kitchen manager to ensure appropriate and prompt medical care is received. For any injury sustained at work, the Employee must also complete a Worker’s Compensation Claim form as soon as possible after the injury. The forms are available from the Payroll service representative.
In the case of an injury, the Employee should:
1) Go immediately to the Stanford hospital if it is an emergency or call 911 (9-911 on campus)! If not, pleased use Kaiser Occupational Care, Redwood City, as they are part of the State Fund Medical Provider Network (see below).
2) If the injury is minor, the Employee must immediately call the kitchen manager. If the kitchen manager cannot be promptly reached, the Employee must then follow the reporting protocol until reaching someone who will be able to pass on the message that the Employee has been injured and may not be able to complete work that day.
3) After informing the House of the injury, immediately contact your SOS Representative at (650) 724-4668 or by cell phone at (650) 520-0673 to receive the Worker’s Compensation forms and instructions on where to seek treatment.
- The Employee may seek treatment from a personal physician only after it has been approved by both the SOS Representative and the Worker’s Compensation claims administrator.
