This yummy, simple classic is the great way to end most, if not all, meals. They can be stored for a week in the fridge or three months in the freezer. Just make sure to place them in an air-tight tupperware in both cases!
Serves 50, Prep Time 20 minutes, Total Time 50 minutes
Ingredients:
2 2/3 cups unsalted butter
8 cups packed brown sugar
8 eggs
2 tbsp. and 2 tsp. vanilla
8 cups flour
4 tsp. baking soda
4 cups chopped walnuts (optional)
Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F.
Butter or oil a deep sheet tray.
Whisk together dry ingredients.
In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add brown sugar and whisk until smooth. Remove from heat and let cool 5 minutes.
Whisk in eggs one at a time and add vanilla.
Add dry ingredients and beat until smooth.
Bake at 350 for 25-30 minutes. Let cool and cut into bars.
